Before Your Assignment

This page guides you through what to do after you’ve been onboarded and before you begin an assignment.

1. Confirm Your Assignment

Once you have accepted an assignment in the contractor portal:

  • You will receive confirmation details including location, date, start time, end time, and assignment requirements.
  • Review all details carefully once accepted. 
  • Confirmations help you and Orange Moon ensure coverage and accountability.
     

Important:
Assignments accepted within 48 hours of the scheduled start time are considered binding. If you are unable to fulfill the assignment, you must notify us and initiate a cancellation no later than 48 hours before start time.

2. Assignment Readiness Self-Attestation

Before beginning any assignment, you may be required to complete an Assignment Readiness Self-Attestation in the Orange Moon platform.


This self-attestation means that you confirm, to the best of your ability, that you are:

  • Fit 
  • Alert 
  • Able to safely perform your assigned duties


This is not a medical screening, nor is it used to judge personal health — it is a professional readiness check.


Complete the self-attestation honestly before marking arrival or beginning your shift.

3. Required Reporting Materials

Before your shift:

  • Make sure your phone is charged 
  • Ensure you have access to the Orange Moon reporting app 
  • Enable GPS as required by the reporting function 
  • Know how to submit activity reports during your shift


You are responsible for using the reporting system correctly and consistently. Reports are a required deliverable and part of your payment eligibility.

4. Uniform & Appearance

For most assignments, you will need to be in the required attire, which typically includes:

  • Approved Orange Moon color top 
  • Professional dark pants 
  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes 
  • Orange Moon identification badge


The goal is to ensure professionalism and client expectations are met.


If you are unsure about uniform requirements for your assignment, review the assignment details in the portal or reach out to support.

5. Arrival & Punctuality

  • Plan to arrive at the assignment location at least 10–15 minutes early unless otherwise instructed. 
  • Late arrivals can impact service quality and eligibility for future assignments.
  • If you anticipate being late, contact Orange Moon immediately via the communications feature in the portal.

6. Assignment Tools & Connectivity

Before your shift begins:

  • Confirm that your mobile device has adequate battery and connectivity 
  • Log into the Orange Moon contractor portal or app 
  • Check your messages for any last-minute instructions or updates


If you encounter issues with the app or reporting during your shift, notify the admin through the portal communications feature.

7. Payment Expectations

Assignment payment is tied to:

  • Acceptance of the assignment 
  • Submission of required reports 
  • Completion of the assignment
     

For overnight assignments, payment is generally processed by 2:00 PM the following business day via Stripe once deliverables are verified.

8. Common Questions

Do I have to bring anything to the assignment?
Yes — come prepared with what you need to perform your assigned duties based on the assignment details (e.g., reporting app access, uniform, chargers).


Can I cancel after confirming?
You may cancel an accepted assignment up to 48 hours before start time without penalty. Cancellations after this window may affect eligibility.
