What to Expect During Your Assignment

Once you have accepted and confirmed an assignment, here’s what you should know about how to perform your duties and complete the assignment successfully.


This page guides you through what happens on the shift while you are on assignment.

1. Arrival & Getting Started

  • Arrive at the assignment location at least 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time unless the assignment notes indicate otherwise. 
  • Ensure you are properly attired in the required uniform that meets Orange Moon appearance standards.
     

After you arrive:

  1. Log into the Orange Moon contractor portal or app. 
  2. Complete the Assignment Readiness Self-Attestation if required. 
  3. Mark your arrival in the app so that your shift officially begins.

2. Assignment Readiness Self-Attestation

Before beginning work, you may be asked to complete a short readiness self-attestation.


This confirms that, at the time you begin your assignment, you are:

  • Fit 
  • Alert 
  • Able to perform your assigned duties safely
     

This is not a medical exam and does not block you from working; it is a professional readiness check required by company policy.

3. Reporting Requirements

During your assignment, you are expected to submit reports according to the assignment’s requirements.


For overnight assignments:

  • Activity reports are typically submitted every 30 minutes through the Orange Moon platform. 
  • Reports must be accurate, complete, and submitted in real time.
     

Failure to submit required reports:

  • May affect pay eligibility 
  • May impact eligibility for future assignments
     

Reports are considered part of the deliverables for which you are compensated.

4. GPS & App Functionality

Many assignments require that:

  • GPS is enabled on your device 
  • The reporting app is allowed to access location services 
  • You have a stable connection for real-time reporting
     

GPS and connectivity help ensure that reports reflect the assignment location and timing accurately.

5. Communication During Your Assignment

During your assignment, you may receive messages or notifications from:

  • Orange Moon Admins 
  • Tour Directors 
  • Support
     

You are expected to:

  • Respond in a timely and professional manner 
  • Use the contractor portal or app for all official communications 
  • Escalate urgent matters as instructed
     

Personal phone calls or unrelated messaging should be handled only when not engaged in assignment responsibilities.

6. Problem Resolution & Emergencies

If an issue arises (late arrival, incident, safety concern, technical issue):

  • Report it promptly using portal communications 
  • Follow any escalation instructions provided 
  • Document what occurred in your report
     

If immediate attention is required and cannot be resolved in the system:

  • Contact Orange Moon support using the provided contact information in the app

7. End-of-Assignment Responsibilities

Before you leave the assignment location:

  • Complete all required reports 
  • Confirm that each report has been successfully submitted 
  • Confirm the assignment completion in the contractor portal
     

Assignments are not considered complete until:
✔ All reporting requirements are satisfied
✔ The assignment is marked complete in the system


You may also be asked to complete any final notes or closing documentation.

8. Payment & Deliverables

Assignment payment is tied to:

  • Accepted assignment 
  • Completed reports and documentation 
  • Confirmation of assignment completion
     

For overnight assignments, payment is typically processed via Stripe by 2:00 PM the business day following a completed assignment, once all deliverables are verified.

9. Conduct & Professional Standards

While on assignment:

  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times 
  • Abide by all applicable safety and operational requirements 
  • Represent Orange Moon professionally to clients and students
     

Unprofessional conduct, failure to report accurately, or failure to escalate issues that require attention may affect your eligibility for future assignments.

10. If You Need to Leave Early

You may only depart early if:

  • Approved through proper cancellation channels prior to 48 hours before shift start, or 
  • An emergency situation requires it and is promptly communicated and documented in the contractor portal
     

Failure to adhere to these procedures may impact eligibility for future assignments.
