As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility to choose assignments — and with that comes professional expectations to ensure safety, quality, and a consistent experience for our clients and their students.
This page outlines the key expectations for contractors while performing assignments with us.
Contractors with Orange Moon are engaged as independent contractors, not employees.

Once an assignment is accepted, it becomes a binding service commitment unless canceled at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time.
While on assignment, contractors are expected to:

✔ Follow assignment requirements as outlined in the contractor portal
✔ Respond promptly to messages and communications
✔ Maintain accurate and complete reporting
Professional conduct helps ensure safety, client trust, and future opportunities for work.
Contractors must submit required reports during and after assignments as specified in the assignment details.
Failure to submit reports may affect your payment and eligibility for future assignments.
Contractors are expected to meet appearance standards while performing assignments.

Before each assignment, you may complete an Assignment Readiness Self-Attestation confirming that you are fit, alert, and able to safely perform the assignment.
This is a professional self-assessment, not a medical evaluation.
Contractors are expected to:
✔ Arrive at assignment locations on time
✔ Complete assignments as scheduled
✔ Communicate before shift start if there are legitimate reasons for delay
Late arrivals, early departures, or no-shows may affect future assignment access and performance records.
Contractors may cancel an accepted assignment up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time without penalty.

Payments are issued based on:

For overnight assignments, payment is typically processed via Stripe by 2:00 PM the following business day once assignment deliverables are verified.
Contractor performance is tracked through our performance point system. Accumulating performance points may affect your eligibility for future assignments.
